The Get Out the Vote: Empowering the Women’s Vote poster campaign, in partnership with the League of Women Voters, invites AIGA members to design nonpartisan posters to commemorate the beginning of 100 years of women’s voting rights for the year of 2020. This poster was my submission to the campaign.
I wanted to educate the viewer on the many African American Women Leaders in the victorious and historic Suffrage Movement, as we celebrate 100 years of women’s voting rights in the U.S. The subject in the poster is also dressed in a suffrage-period outfit draped with the symbolic suffragette sash to symbolize this.
